Hello.

If this question is answered elsewhere I missed it! :-)

What is the delivery time for a 28", 30", or 32" f/3.6?

Thanks,
-Scott

Scott,

Right now the waiting times are about 12-13 months, but it changes monthly.

We are just about 1/2 way through a huge peak of scope orders that were placed as Pyrex was running out.

At one time in the past, we were able to get a mirror and complete the scope in just 3 months - I'm not sure that will ever happen again. We have been trying to make one additional scope in each size so that something is "in stock" once in a while.

Thank you,

Jim

I have a question about the gussets and braces in the mirror box... How are they affixed to the carcass? Glue only? Doweled? have you ever had glue fail over time and have the piece fall onto the mirror?

Thanks,
-Scott

They are affixed mechanically in varying ways depending on the scope size.

Biscuit and rabbet joints would be good choices for most applications.

None have ever been reported in having broken loose. The steel mirror frame keeps the bottom opening from flexing out of square, and the cast aluminum side bearings reinforce the box sides from flexing; so they are never really exposed to any stresses that would break their joints.

Also consider that every running inch of gusset has 3 to 4.5 inches of gluing surface area.
